The flu/cold season has made an early and prominent arrival. As you know, H1N1 is contracted three to five days after being exposed to the virus with symptoms lasting up to eight days. Children are the most at risk of contracting this virus.
Symptoms include:
• Fever
• Cough, sore throat
• Body aches
• Headaches
• Chills
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
Our office has always and will continue to use universal precautions for infection control to protect all patients, parents and staff members. In order to better protect everyone, we ask that you call our office to reschedule your appointment if you or your children have any of the above symptoms. We understand how difficult this time of year can be and how busy your schedule is, so we will be more than happy to reschedule your appointment to suit your needs. If your child happens to contract the flu, the most important thing to remember is to keep them hydrated with fluids!
